Well today was a pretty good day; went to a presidential/ trustee scholarship award's banquet. I was having a pretty nice time, talking with friends, meeting important Purdue people, and drinking punch. As the minutes went by we (Katie, Jessica, and I) would migrate to different parts of the room to talk to different important people; networking. But just as we were alone for a second, as I stood there with my hand on my hip and my cup in my hand, a pain-throbbing strike of fire shot down my shoulder which caused me to yell and drop my arm like a rag doll. As my friend and I stood there in uncontrollable laughter, an man came over and looked questionable at what just happened. So I began to explain, with my face as bright red as a cherry, that I just had an intense muscle spasm. He questioned if I had those frequently and I laughingly replied no. We then continued to talk about our major, hometowns, etc. while I tried to gain back my credibility and seem more mature than my muscle spasm made me out to be. We finished talking and the room was brought to attention that the speakers were about to get to the podium to being speaking to the audience. As the made people in suits, etc. migrated to the other side of the room, I stood in front of my friends and waited for the speakers to begin. They spoke about honor, accomplishment and success and continued to move from speaker to speaker until eventually the president of Purdue came to the podium and being to introduce another person of great importance. They spoke that he was an industrial engineer, went to Purdue on a GE scholarship, became the youngest vice president of GE, and owned his own company that ended up being worth more than GE. As they had finished introducing this very important person, I looked over to see a young man walk up to the podium and look out to the audience. His name was Keith and he is Purdue's president of the board of trustees, and he witnessed my very first muscle spasm... wow I just know how to make a good first impression. Witnessing things like this will never be forgotten in the life of Hannah Vosmeier.
SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PICK UP LINE. "IM HAVING A MUSCLE SPASM" WORKS EVERY TIME.
